Total Solar Eclipse – August 12th, 2026

This year the Total solar eclipse is forming on August 12th, 2026.  This Total solar eclipse will form approximately for every 18 months.

Path of visibility:

Total eclipse : Greenland, Iceland, Atlantic ocean, and Northern Spain.

Partial eclipse: Visible across parts of Europe, Africa, and North eastern North America (Alaska and parts of East coast).

End of the full eclipse:       2:38 pm

 

This Total Solar Eclipse occurs with Moon, and Sun conjunct in Aslehsa Nakshatra, exalted Jupiter and Mercury in Pushyami nakshatra in Karkataka rasi. The presence of cluster of planets like Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Mercury will have profound impact on Karkataka Rasi natives.  Karkataka natives may feel restless.

 Partial Lunar Eclipse on August 27th & 28th, 2026

This is very deep Partial Lunar Eclipse is forming on August 27th & 28th, 2026.  This eclipse is forming in Satabisha Nakshatram with Moon and Rahu conjunct.

Effects of eclipses at Mundane level are:

Solar eclipse effect will be felt for atleast 3 months after the total solar eclipse. As totality of eclipse and partial eclipse is going to be felt in the countries with conflicts, one can see further increase in the conflicts.

1.    Increased political uncertainty. 

2.    There will be public dissatisfaction and volatility

3.    Changes in leadership or cabinet reshuffle

4.    Flood or heavy rainfall

5.    Greater attention to public health and pharmaceuticals

6.    Major concerns related to a public medicine

7.    Financial fluctuations in sectors connected with food, agriculture, shipping and real estate. 

8.    Increased espionage, cyber-security issues, intelligence related matters.

9.    The conflicts on waterways continue like Strait of Homuz and China sea.

 

In general at individual level (individual level) an eclipse does not effect everyone equally.  It tends to be more significant when it falls on the natal Moon or on the Ascendant (lagna).

1.    There can be shift in family responsibility

2.    There can be increase in over confidence

3.    Change in career direction

4.    Relocation or change in residence. 

5.    There can be increase in consumption of addictive substances.

As Jupiter is exalted in Karkataka along with Mercury, it will be good to if one can meditate, join courses to improve once hobbies or scriptural knowledge, start learning occult sciences. 

Dos during eclipse:

1.    Pray to any form of deity close to your heart or Shiva or Surya.  Reciting any mantra or meditation will be very beneficial.  

2.    Reciting a mantra during eclipse will give 1000 times the result. 

3.    Take head bath before start of the eclipse and once the eclipse ends.

 

Don’ts during eclipse:

1.    Avoid taking any important decisions on eclipse day.

2.    Karkataka  Rasi natives (those with Punarvasu 4th pada, Pushyami all 4 padas and Aslesha all 4 padas) should avoid watching solar eclipse.  Avoid taking up any works especially financial decisions.

3.    On Lunar eclipse Kumbha Rasi natives (those with Dhanista 3&4th pada, Satabhisha all 4 padasa, Purvabhadra 1,2 &3 padas). Should avoid watching Moon.  Avoid taking up any important works on the eclipse days.

4.    Pregnant women should take extra care.  Avoid seeing the eclipse, better to stay indoors. It will be good if they can listen to religious discourses and recite mantras.  Avoid eating during eclipse period, as digestion will be difficult.

5.    Avoid cutting nails, shaving or wearing new clothes.
