Mythology #1

Anuradha Nakshatra is all about “Devotion” or “Bhakti”.  Usually, the unconditional love of Radha for Sri Krishna is related to this nakshatra.

Another saint Meera who is a poet and singer had a deep love for Krishna.  This tells how love transforms into devotion, which leads to self-realization.  Meera’s love grew so deep that Krishna became so significant she started calling him God.  The feeling that Krishna is there, the total feeling of love, total surrender, this losing oneself into one who may or may not be, is the total transformation.  This makes one purified.

Mythology #2

Radha is the beloved of Lord Krishna.  Due to circumstances more than lovers, they were friends and were deeply attached.  Again this also indicates surrender and pure love leads to great devotion and self-realization.  In this case, both the symbol Lotus and deity Mitra indicate the pure love and friendship in their relationship.
